Testing out the Amazon S3 Servers

Posted on July 2 2010 by Martin

I finally decided to take the plunge and invest in the Amazon S3 service. It seems pretty straight forward to use, but there are some techie things that need to be taken care of (outsourcing comes in handy sometimes).

The costs look reasonable, and it will allow us to put up a better services for our general marketing clients with the new player we are using.

Testing stages at this time, but it looks pretty good so far. The only concern I have at this point is that the download times actually seem to be longer than when streamed on my own servers, but we shall see if this continues.

If you have been using Amazon S3 yourself and would like to share tips, please feel free to post below or get in touch with me at my support site.

Our first test video is below, but like I said above, still in our early set up phase :)

    Hey Martin

Love the video. How do I get some promo video work like this done?

We are in need of a video similar to the style you show in this post and the quotes I am getting to date are in the region of $3,000+ which is above my price point at this stage. Do you offer this service now? I see from the redirect that you are closed to the public at this point.

I will log a ticket, but thought maybe I may get an instant reply on here.

    all the best

    Luca
