Simple Sites that Make Money Part 4
Simple Sites that Make Money Part 4
Hi there and welcome to Post Four in my Simple Make Money Sites Series.
Did you read Part Three Yet? If not, it is fine, but you will miss out on some very worthwhile content.
Ok, so on to the next part, which is about doing your research and looking at the tools you need to consider when putting your site together.
Today will be more of an overview, with the coming days going into detail.
Here is a very simple guide to consider when setting up a simple money site.
1) Needs to be simple (DUH)
2) Anyone should be able to set up the tools they need to do this
3) We need a website
4) We need to know basic marketing and traffic generation
5) We need to know where to come up with ideas for the site type and style
6) We need to know how to monetise the web site once it is built
7) It needs to be relatively hands off once built unless we want more
We need to know how to step up the income and make serious growth when/if
we are ready
I am going to skip items 1-3 today. Reason being, One and two are stating the obvious, and three we will cover in due course, but you need to do some research first of all.
I am amazed at how many times people ask me…
“Martin, how do I know what to do when it comes to making a web site”?
I usually ask them to explain a little further, and it usually comes down
to…
A) What should the site be about
B) I do not know the tech side of things
Well, this is easy to overcome.
A) We will cover that in this section four
b) We will cover that in future posts and private member content.
Lets get started with the What…!
There are a few schools of thought on this. Some say that you should just go with what you are passionate about and that way the content flows easier. Other will tell you to copy the wheel, not re-invent it and focus on something that makes money already. Others will tell you to do the ground work and research a market well and just give the public what they want.
In truth, it is a little of all these things.
1) Without the passion or at least some mild interest, it is very likely that you will give up BEFORE your site makes any income. This is sad, because often people do all the ground work of basic research and building, then abandon the project because they did not make a dime quick enough.
2) Yes, by all means take inspiration from what is around you. But be careful when you read that X makes millions or Y makes hundreds of thousands. Sometimes, it is just clever marketing spin, or outright lies to get you to purchase a product.
3) Give the public what they want is important. If you write content that nobody wants to read, you are wasting your time and money.
My advice would be to do the basic research we cover here, and also choose something that you have some interest in to begin with. It will make your life much easier that way as you go along.
