Did you know that it is relatively easy to find niche markets that you can then make
money on with a few well placed articles?
If you can find and weed out the right tools to show what search terms people are entering
into the search engines, like Google each month on certain niches, then add a well written
article to article directory sites like EzineArticles.com or PrintMyArticle.com, you can
then begin to see a nice flow of targeted traffic to your affiliate links.
The great thing here is that you do not have to make the products, run the support desk,
or come up with new and ongoing content, you simply send your traffic to these sites with
your link and say thanks for the resulting commissions.
Here is a breakdown of what you need:
1) A website that you can use to redirect your affiliate links. The reason for this is that
Google and even sites like EzineArticles do not like you direct linking to affiliate
products, in fact, EzineArticles will refuse article submissions when reviewing if they find
this to be the case.
HINT: you could use tools like Google’s Blogger to start with as your
landing page, this will save you money. Later if it meets your criteria, you can link to your
site that you set up from your Blogger Blog.
2) You ideally want to track the clicks you are getting on your article content to know what
to invest more time into as you grow. If you can, grab an Affiliate Click Tracker that Cloaks
your links to reduce Commission Theft.
The trick here is to put together simple sites that will promote an affiliate product, test it over a “qualifying period” and if it meets your requirements for content + time invested Vs income and or list building ratio, then you know to pour more resources into this niche and bulk out your site.
This will result in you growing to become and “authority site” over time on that niche and can lead to more organic traffic and sales. But lets not get ahead of ourselves at this point.
3) You need a niche (duh) and there are many ways to research these. Start with keyword tools
like Googles own Keyword research tool to get an indication of searches per month.
Then you can move on to tools like Wordtracker or one we think is cool (and relatively low
entry cost) The Niche Finder.
4) Then you piece it together -
So you will:
Research Niches and build keyword lists. Use Thesaurus tools to build related words, and not just the actual keyword for your content, Google loves this and awards you higher scores for
this type of content.
The find out if there are products and or services that pay you commission related to those
target niche keywords.
Write (or pay to have written) 15-25 or so articles around that topic and place 5-6 of them on your site (or Blogger blog) and the others submit to the article directories over a period
of 2-3 weeks.
Make sure your resource box is relative, snappy, catches the attention of the reader and makes them want to take action and click to learn more.
Once the reader is at your site, they should then be compelled to click onwards to your affiliate
link.
Give your articles time to take hold, and then keep track of the reads / clicks that they receive
to your landing site. Check your affiliate commission stats, and if you are seeing good click through from articles to site to affiliate product to sale, then you can begin to up the work and build a focused authority site to gain more organic traffic over time.
Build back links, social networking links, squidoo lenses, hubpages, videos on video sites,
and all the other SEO tricks you can implement. But only do this on high converting campaigns.
The first trick is to always test the market in a simple way like we gave above before you
commit heavily to a project.
The really cool part here is to invest the test project profit into content writers and link
posters etc. This will grow your main site at a rapid rate and bring in great long term sales.
