Does the Credit Crunch effect you as an Internet Marketer?
Well the answer as always is that it depends. It can have a negative impact on you if you rely solely on one market and people stop spending in that market.
For example, I know of someone who is currently seeing a decline in his property investment sites income, but he has another site all about share investment and the interesting thing here is that his site sales have gone up
Could it be because his site looks at “safe investing” for people who want to save for the childrens college funds etc??
Because it is a controversial topic right now, that lends itself to higher searches which in turn can have a positive impact on his business.
Likewise on the News last night in the UK they talked about how Shoe Repair shops are seeing a hike in sales as people look for ways to cut down on thier shopping.
So offering sites that show people how to save money and how to make the most of what they have already in the home could put you onto a winner in these troubled times.
The beauty of the internet is provided you are willing to adapt, you can make money in virtually any given market.
Obviously people are more cautious about their spending habit, but their are still ways to make sales.
Dominos Pizza made a statement on the same news program that their sales at this point are actually on the increase as people look to saving on their “going out budget” so rather than eat out, they buy in a delivery, so they still get out of cooking, but do not have to spend as much as they would on a meal out on the high street.
Being an independent marketer also means you can adapt much faster to climate than a large corporation who have built a brand on one sector. By being the main or sole decision maker
you can set up in new markets with relative ease, especially with the access to information open to us all these days.
So in essence I am saying, be more cautious about what you throw your personal money at, but do not think you have to shut up shop or give up on a dream because the way the economy looks right now.
Chin up, keep smiling and look for the positve in any given situation and you will be amazed at what you find out there.
To your success and good health.
